August Finishes

Here we are again, another month that seem to just fly by. Its amazing considering we all seem to suffer one way or another from the weather. Here in NE Oklahoma it was extreme heat and humidity. A good thing because of it I was inside a lot, which meant I was keeping myself busy with projects. Was pretty successful too. This is going to be a picture heavy post. I'll start with the one that I had been working on the past few months the Spring Fling Shop Hop from 2015. It turned out so pretty, and next its off to the quilter.   I love how the shops had fabric made just for them, naming the towns and the state. I have also slowly been going through boxes in the garage. and in one of them I found the top I made back in 2012. It was one of Bonnie Hunters mystery quilts, Easy Street.  I didn't have it quilted at the time because I just thought it wasn't complete so I put it away. Well I saw it and realized what was missing, a boarder. It's the only one of her mysteries I hav

Peaceful Sunday

It has been another one of those weeks. Had family from out of state come to visit with my parents and which I was over at their house everyday and then Doctor visits Friday.  My DS and I went to Pawhaska to Ree Drummond's  Mercantile store and we were also able to go to the Lodge where they film her cooking show on the food Network I wish I would of took more pictures but there was quite the crowd. Love this huge fireplace. FYI; every bedroom has its own full bathroom and there was 5(?) bedrooms Yesterday needed to go by my parents house and deliver dinner for them. Tried out a new recipes they had printed out at the clinic that was low in sodium.  Lemonade Chicken Was pretty tasty. I haven't been able to do any sewing but had started a new embroidery project   Halloween Journey by Crabapple Hill I started this 2 weeks ago. I'm using a printable sticky transfer that is water solvable by Sulky Took 4 sheets to get all o

Plugging Along

This past month I have made a little progress. I have one of the Halloween dish towel done I have embroidered two more but still need to add the printed binding  Seems like I have more starts than finishes right now Did finished another afghan and I have plans for this one. Pete had to break it in. I am planning on getting a Class B RV, also know as a camper van. And this will go in the van. I know what I want it's just convincing "the man of the place" Up on the wall is the Hexie diamonds I have completed  Also started prepping the Garden Party quilt by Laura Heine  I wanted the feel of being at the beach, soft and soothing. I had some help as you can see. Till next time

Moving Slowly

It's not just slow Sunday but I have myself been moving slowly and stiffly. For some reason unknown to me, my sciatic nerve is bothering me.  I'm having no problem fitting right in with the theme today of  slow Sunday but it does hurt a little if I sit around to much or long. But while I am, a little embroidery work is what I'm doing today.  It's Winter Wonderland by Crab-apple Hill design  I final finished the largest section last month. Boy was that a lot of work. It didn't seem that it would at first but those trees were for me what took so long.  Also finished another smaller one since the last time I posted a picture back on May 20. This is how many sections that are completed.  This next section is also a large section but at least not as big as the other. Expect this to take me a little while too. For the Winter Wonderland and many other embroidery work, I use a product that is printable, sticky back and water so

Sweet

It's been a long week, so glad all went well. I was in Tulsa Tuesday thru Friday with Mom and surgery and recovering is all going well. Being gone to Doctors and Hospital I took handwork with me. Was able to get some of the Hexes for Winterse Hejxes Mystery  Working on weeks 6 - 10 now   Along with some  embroidery works.  I had started this quilt Winter Wonderland at least 5 years ago with this being the largest section to stitch. I think I have 4 other sections completed. These were easy projects to carry with me and do. And any sewing done at home was on Scrappy Nine Patch It has taken over my room Mainly the table area of the quilting machine. I am making good progress The bag on the left was 3/4 filled with a section for the nine patch and now I have only a small amount witch I put into a smaller bag. Unfortunately I did not have enough of the cream color fabric, so before I can start
